Summer Internship with Pillar4 Media

Editorial Internship

*Applications for this role will close on October 25th, 2024. Applicants required to graduate summer 2026 with a relevant undergraduate degree (including, but not limited to: Communications, English, Journalism, Media, Public Relations).

*This role will be required to be in Charlotte, NC for 10-weeks over summer 2025, with housing assistance available if applicable.

As an intern at Pillar4 Media, you’ll have the opportunity to get real-world, hands-on experience at one of the fastest growing digital media companies in the US. In addition to learning new skills and working directly with subject matter experts in SEO, editorial, creative, paid media, customer experience and analytics, you’ll get to work on meaningful projects that make a difference for consumers seeking to improve their health and wellness.

What our team does

  • Write and edit in-depth product reviews to be featured on our websites, other media sites and social media platforms.
  • Convey all the ins and outs of sleep and fitness products in a voice that’s captivating, knowledgeable, and fun.
  • Collaborate with the SEO, UXRP, video and design teams to bring our reviews to life.
  • Uphold our high standards for editorial excellence and follow our established brand guidelines.

The types of projects you will work on

  • Create detailed outlines and briefs for our review content.
  • Assist with writing and/or updating important content on our sites.
  • Assist with editing articles -- support with fact-checking, reviewing for spelling and grammar, ensuring content follows our brand guidelines and meets user intent, incorporating SEO and CRO best practices.
  • Publish content in our CMS (WordPress) -- includes formatting, internal linking and selecting appropriate images/graphics to support our written content.
  • Research new topics/subjects for written and video content.

By the end of the summer you will

  • Have real-world experience working with our talented team of writers, editors and SEO analysts.
  • Understand what it takes to create content that wins -- ranks on Google, captivates our audience and generates revenue.
  • Have tangible assets that you can include in your creative portfolio.
